Accreditations
In January of 2002 Arts of Life, Inc. was thrilled to partner with The Council on Quality and Leadership and receive a two-year accreditation from this national organization that provides worldwide leadership for greater accountability, responsiveness and quality performance in human and social organizations and systems. Returning in January of 2004, our studio received a 3-year accreditation with distinction from The Council on Quality and Leadership. Reaccreditation With Distinction signifies provision of services of the highest quality.
The months-long accreditation process, involved multiple applications, reviews, and onsite visits. The Council spoke to our artists, board members and providers to gain insight into who we are and how we manage our community.
As noted in The Council’s accreditation summary, receiving this honor demonstrates the studio’s “willingness to achieve a level of quality unsurpassed by most organizations” serving adults with developmental disabilities. The Council commended Arts of Life “for its commitment to maintaining its focus on person-centered, outcome-based services.”
The report continues: “People have control over defining their space within the studio. Each space defines the individual personality of each artist;” and “all people interviewed are satisfied with their personal life situations. Rarely have I interviewed and been around so many happy people.” Needless to say, we are thrilled with the results of the accreditation process and are committed to continued excellence in our program.
