Community
Our commitment to community includes not just our own collective but the community at large. We firmly believe that integrating people of all abilities within a community creates an understanding and appreciation of each other as fellow human beings. When one is able to know a person with a disability as a neighbor or collaborator or friend, they are then able to see beyond the disability to the person themselves. We are grateful to the following for working with us to establish a stronger community:
Starbucks Coffee Company, for exhibiting our artwork in area cafés as part of their mission to get involved in the communities in which they are based.
Sandro Film for continually collaborating on projects and assisting our community by donating time, photography sessions, and space.
Wolfe Photography - for taking high quality photographs of our artwork and events
Artist Frame Service for their generous donations of frames and matteboard.
We are also very proud to be working with the following education institutions as part of their internship and service learning programs. Having working artists in our space provides our artists with a deeper perspective on being an artist in Chicago and offers them the ability to work collaboratively with other area art-makers.
The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC)
University of Illinois at Chicago
Jane Addams School of Social Work
We also absolutely love the relationship we have with CORTIVA, formerly the Chicago School of Massage Therapy, for providing massages to everyone in our collective.
