Jean Wilson


Jean Wilson has a fresh, simple style of painting, employing bright colours and strong lines. She is working with acrylics and likes the work to be quick and to the point. Jean’s paintings are of the things she loves. She loves animals, friends, and the house where she lives, L’Arche.

Artist’s Statement

Art is relaxing. It makes me feel happy, and it makes me feel proud.

I prefer to make animals in my artwork, because I like animals. Dogs are my favorite. Paint is my favorite medium to work with. I am learning how to mix colors. First I draw outlines, then I paint. Sometimes on windows and sometimes on paper. I do collage too.

What I see in my artwork is my life. The painting of L’Arche house, where I live, is my favorite, because I learned something new when I made it. I get my ideas from my head and also from my life and family.
