Linda Ruzga

“I like to paint pictures of birds and fish and airplanes and cats and babies, all kinds of stuff and flowers. They feel delicious.”

Linda works with marker, acrylic, as well as watercolor. She likes acrylic best because of its immediacy and bright colors. People look at Linda’s work and see lakes, trees, and things from the natural world. Linda sees this in her own work, but also sees “babies…cats, mothers…all kinds of things” from her imagination.

Linda freely mixes automatic drawing and painting with representative images of animals, people, and plant-life. Her expressive, agitated line-work merges with soft, lush dabs and strokes from the paintbrush to create a wonderful combination of craggy and calm.
